Rooms

The Lloyd Hotel, Amsterdam, has 117 guestrooms spread across six floors. Ranging from one- to five stars, rooms offer varying sizes and decor, each individually styled by Dutch designers (such as Claudy Jongstra, Hella Jongerius, De Bazel, Marcel Wanders, and Richard Hutten). Many rooms retain original features such as glazed ceramic tiles and wooden beams, blended seamlessly into design statements. Furnishings range from original 1920s chairs to bold contemporary pieces. Decor mainly leans towards the minimal. Five-star rooms offer statement pieces such as a grand piano, and a four-metre bed sleeping up to eight.

All rooms include satellite TV and desks with free high-speed Internet ports. All but one-star rooms have ensuite bathrooms, some of which innovatively fold away, others with fibre-glass moulded bathtubs.

Getting there: There is a railway station in the terminal’s central hall, under Schiphol Plaza, and direct trains run to Amsterdam Centraal Station approximately every 15 minutes. From here take tram number 26 and alight at the third stop.
